Jasmin Kolberg began her musical training at the age of seven on drums, piano and violin.
As the daughter of Bernhard Kolberg, founder of Kolberg Percussion in Germany, she grew up in a highly musical environment with access to almost unlimited percussion instruments.

After completing her classical percussion studies at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart under Prof. Klaus Treßelt in 2000, she studied marimba at the renowned Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris under Prof. Eric Sammut, as well as with the world-renowned marimba artist Leigh Howard Stevens in New York.
In 1999 Jasmin Kolberg won 3rd place in the “Second World Marimba Competition” and a scholarship from the Yamaha Foundation of Europe.
From 2007 to 2010 she worked as a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, as well as at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim (2008-2016). She is also a guest lecturer on the marimba at many international music academies.

She proves her creativity not only through her virtuoso playing.
She developed her own marimba mallets with multitone heads:
“Jasmin Kolberg Solo” mallets are used by the world's most renowned marimba artists.
